Dutch Design Week 2025 - greenhouse of the future

Such a fun experience at Dutch Design Week 2025 presenting our 4TU Redesign project to advance the greenhouse of the future!

♻️ Reversing the Food Chain 🌾 What would happen if we prioritised the needs of environmental and health stakeholders over profit throughout our food chain?

🔮 Imagine a future where food is produced sustainably in local greenhouses and delivered to you based on your actual personal health needs. A team of researchers from the four technical universities in the Netherlands, the 4TU.Federation, work to make this vision a reality.

🏠 During Dutch Design Week 2025, 4TU.Redesign presented a concept for a high-tech urban food system focusing on health and resilience, and on connecting consumers with food production. This concept was presented in the form of a cosy greenhouse. People working in the food sector and interested citizens engaged in conversations with the researchers, who explained the presentation – a great example of connecting science with society!”
